For children and young people

Wigwam tries to organise many fun events and special days for the children and their siblings each year. We have regular events and meetings, as well as special one-off events to take part in.

Christmas and Easter Parties

All our children are invited to our Christmas and Easter parties.

The Little Injuns party is for children under 7 with special needs and their siblings. This is a smaller party and in the past has included sing and sign, pass the parcel, simple craft and lunch.

The Mighty Mohicans party is for children 7 to 10 with special needs and their siblings. This is often a big noisy party with games, craft, obstacle course and party tea.

The parties are traditionally held at Le Rondin school where we have use of the sensory room for those who like some quiet time. We are flexible about ages for the younger children – parents can choose which is the most appropriate party for their children to attend.

The Big Chiefs party is for all children 11 and over and is usually a disco with pizza and hot dogs. It is traditionally held at St Mary’s Church Hall where there is a quiet room for children to take some time out.

Sibling Fun Events

Siblings of our children with special needs are welcome at all our events. However, we like to do something special just for siblings. Each year we organise a fun event, usually at Oatlands for siblings from the age of 7 to 13. It’s an opportunity to meet and have fun with other siblings who have a brother or sister with special needs.

Young Adults

Social events are being planned specifically for our young adults and older teenagers. Watch this space! Young Adults
