Speech Therapy

In 2003 we held a very successful public meeting where deputies were invited to attend. The aim of the meetings was to address how the proposed changes to the way the speech therapy service was to be delivered would affect members whose feeling were that the proposals would have a negative impact on their children's therapy.

There was also the fact that for many of our families their child was not receiving therapy at all due to not enough therapist and demand being so high.
Deputy at the time Peter Derham, took a requete to the states in order to ask them to address the issue as a matter of urgency. The requete had a positive outcome as funding was allocated for one new therapist and a part time assistant.
