Autism Guernsey

Launched in April 2013, Autism Guernsey is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by autism in the Bailiwick.

Carers Coming Together 

Offers all unpaid long-term carers for sick, disabled or elderly loved ones time to relax and be cossetted themselves.

Contact a Family

Is a  UK-wide charity providing advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children – no matter what their condition or diagnosis.

The Down's Syndrome Association (DSA) 

Is the only organisation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which supports people with Down's syndrome at every stage of life.

The Friends of St. Martins Day Service was set up in February 2011 to provide assistance to the Adult Disability Day Service. It has funded various equipment for the Day Service and holds The Drop Inn Club which provides four drop-in sessions each week around the Island for adults with learning difficulties to socialise, meet new friends and take part in activities. 

Grow Limited

Founded by Guernsey Mencap, Grow Limited opened in 1989 to provide training and sheltered work for people with a learning disability in horticulture and related craft industries.

Guernsey Blind Association 

Resource centre and local co-ordinator provide practical advice and equipment to maintain independent living skills.

Guernsey Citizens Advice Bureau

Information and advice on buying and selling, employment, housing, relationship problems or anything local people may be concerned with.

Guernsey Disability Alliance

The Guernsey Disability Alliance was formed in 2008. Its membership includes representatives from over 30 local disability charities, plus individual disabled people. They have joined forces to speak with one voice about the issues disabled islanders have in common. Their mission is equality for disabled islanders.

Guernsey Hard of Hearing Association

The Guernsey Hard of Hearing Association are committed to offering care and support to everyone who has a hearing problem and their families.

Guernsey Mencap

Affiliated to National MENCAP, the local association employs an advocacy worker and operates a befrienders scheme based at the St Martins Community Centre. The Guernsey Mencap Committee meets monthly and reviews requests from individuals who may require financial or personal assistance.

Guernsey Mind

Mind aims to develop a service that will promote, preserve and safeguard positive mental health for the people of Guernsey.

Is a local parenting website.

Guernsey Society for Physically Disabled People

The Ron Short Centre are committed to help and assist people with physical, mobility and sensory disabilities of all ages.

Guernsey Specials Gym Club

Gymnastics club run by volunteer trained coaches and helpers for children with either physical or learning disabilities.

Headway Guernsey

Supports adults and their families living with the long term effects of a brain injury caused by an accident, stroke, tumour or meningitis.

Health Information Exchange

Provides a confidential and impartial information service covering all aspects of disability and health related matters.

Home-Start Guernsey

Home-Start is a charity aimed at providing help and support to families with children under five years old. Trained volunteers within the home offer support and friendship. The group aims to offer support, friendship and practical assistance in helping families develop their strengths and emotional well being to the ultimate benefit of their children.

Monday Club 

Youth club for youngsters with varying special needs (both physical and learning) from the age of nine and upwards. 

Motor Neurone Disease Association Guernsey Branch

The local branch provides aids for patients as well as caring for them, befriending the family and giving support.

Multiple Sclerosis Society - Baliwick of Guernsey

The Guernsey Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society provides help and support for local people with MS, their family and their carers.

National Autistic Society Guernsey Branch 

Like the main National Autistic Society, the local branch champions the rights and interests of all people with autism in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.


SIBS is a UK charity which represents the needs of siblings of disabled children and adults.
