Deputy Arrun Wilkie is the new States’ Champion for Disabled People

Deputy Arrun Wilkie has worked closely with Deputy John Gollop over the last two years, taking up disability issues on behalf of individuals with various States departments and steering the Disability and Inclusion Strategy to a unanimous vote in favour in November 2013.  Now that Deputy Gollop has resigned to focus on his new role at the Environment Department, Deputy Wilkie is keen to carry on John’s work.

Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq, Guernsey’s Chief Minister said:

“I’m delighted Deputy Wilkie has taken on the role of Disability Champion. Having worked with him on the Home Department board, I know how interested he is in helping Islanders who are experiencing difficulties acccessing services or information. I am sure he and Jane Stephens will work well together in driving the Disability Strategy forward.”
